It seems to me that you have a more fundamental issue with Mojave and the issues with DPS are only an aspect. (Keychain, Apple-ID, Passwords lost…)

Sorry for the question Nuke, but have you ever restarted your Mac in this time?
    Sometimes it’s like magic…
Or try SMC-Reset and PRAM-Reset or perhaps a safe boot.

OOPS, to late…I was to slow with my answer.

    Hello Nuke
Well, may be we will have some snow here in the central parts of Switzerland in the winter!

    I have news for you!
    My DPS is working again!
I was thinking about how precisely I installed Boom 3D and remembered suddenly, that Boom 3D asked me the permission for the microphone in the security pref pane.
So I installed immediately a new copy of DPS, installed and activated it (and yes, there will be a blue DPS icon in the menu bar, indicating that DPS is processing sound).
I hadn’t a keychain request nor security hints. So I allowed manually DPS in the accessibility tab of the security pref pane and also the microphone in the microphone tab.
With a little shiver I opened iTunes and voilà: There was sound!
I hope this will help you, if it’s not the keychain issue you mentioned…

BTW: Boom 3D is charged, like DPS

“Good morning” Nuke 🙂 Here in Europe we have afternoon 🙂
You can review Boom 3D in the App Store and yes, it resides also in the menu bar.

No I never use them both the same time! Either I use DPS and deactivate Boom 3D completely or vice versa (thats my security threat!). They both have their advantages. DPS has plenty of different speaker-sound-curves as presets and a virtual woofer. I use DPS when listening to my external speakers. Whereas Boom 3D has his advantage in a virtual 5.1 Stereo (Surround) for headphones, but also different presets. So it’s a personal preference.

Today (CET) there was an update for my Boom 3D and guess: its working again! So there was may be something in the plug-ins programcode that displeased Mojave. Let’s hope the Bongiovi team finds the bug in DPS soon (if there is one).

Nope, I deinstalled DPS with the uninstaller, downloaded a new copy (2.2.0.9) and installed it, with password and activation trough “privacy tab” under the system preferences.Nothing changed: DPS is fully installed and visible but not responding at all.

No I’ve no issues with Mojave so far (knock on wood)…
My external active speakers are a little “High Fidelity”. Perhaps I don’t cringe so much like you 🙂

That was the first thing i’ve done: I was going back to the internal speakers (or my external B&W), without DPS. The sound is on now. I’ve tried several times to deinstall and reinstall DPS, without any change… Restart the computer brings nothing.

FYI: Same issues with Boom 3d!

    Hi there
Since the update to Mojave (Final) my Bongiovi DPS (2.2.09) is mute too, no sound at all. It’s installed properly, macOS recognizes the Plug-in, but it doesn’t react.
    The system log tells this:

Sep 28 14:23:54 iMac-Pro Bongiovi DPS[774]: DEPRECATED USE in libdispatch client: dispatch source activated with no event handler set; set a breakpoint on _dispatch_bug_deprecated to debug
