No issues at all here!
I’m always using it, it’s one of those things I couldn’t live without it 🙂
I decided to give VOX another try and it plays much better with DPS now 🙂
Occasionally, VOX (2.4) deactivates DPS if I pause a track, but that’s it. No other problems. It’s a good player IMHO, so I’ll contact their support again. Fingers crossed!
In Yosemite DP7: The black preferences window needs an update for graphical glitches. That’s all!
I tried your sudo command and it didn’t work. So, I removed the “” and it worked! 🙂
sudo nvram boot-args=kext-dev-mode=1
Thanks for your tip! How do we revert back to normal? mode=2?
I installed some other sound tools to get my DPS-quality music back.
Boom didn’t install too, so something clearly changed in the audio output with DP4. I tried Hear too, but that tool makes music worse, the default presets give lots of distortion! (ouch) So I think I have 2 options: wait for a fix or install Mavericks again.
Let’s install Mavericks again. Wait, I can’t download Mavericks from the App Store because it requires Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion! Ouch again! I guess the only thing I can do is start up from the recovery partition and do a clean install. Install all my software again? No way…
So, I’m waiting for a fix lol. It’s in times like this that you realize how good DPS is…
I wanted to make a new post about the Jet Audio Player Plus and DPS on android. I found it by searching for Bongiovi on the play store a week ago 😉 But I see I’m too late!
All works as expected, the same good quality as DPS on Mac.
It’s release candidate, Vox will go out of beta this month. Sorry for this, I thought it was safe!
Nope, just recently, I wanted a lightweight player for playing my music and iTunes for managing my music library. I thought DPS was system wide, so it would work with any player now. Sorry for this problem, I didn’t realize Vox was involved.
I’ll contact the developer, thanks for the follow up!
OMG, DPS just turned itself off after closing Vox (music player). No sleeping at all. Maybe I should try a reinstall…
Thanks for your reply. I’ll try to answer your questions.
1) I never shut down or let my Mac do a full sleep. My Mac is always running.
2) I’ve encountered the problem when no audio was playing. So, after waking up my Mac with no audio playing, I’ve noticed that the icon in the menu bar was black and I had to turn it on. It doesn’t always happen, this behavior started recently. Version 1.0.4 worked fine for months.
3) I use my iMac’s build-in speakers.
