THEY FIXED IT (VLC)

In the latest just released version of VLC for mac/win  Version 2.1.2 They fixed audio issues &most importantly they FIXED
the following audio issue:

 * Fix stuttering or silent playback when using sound enhancers or external
   audio devices on OS X
