ParticipantNo I’ve no issues with Mojave so far (knock on wood)…
My external active speakers are a little “High Fidelity”. Perhaps I don’t cringe so much like you 🙂Regards

ParticipantNo,
I guess I’ve been enjoying the DPS plugin so long, I’ve havent had to hear anything with out it running. I must say my Bose desktop speakers playing iTunes playlists with the DPS plugin handling everything, it’s like night and day to my ears. Ha Ha.I also wasn’t aware that Boom is also having issues with Mojave?
Mojave is to me just another update, I generally use it to check emails and listen to music and a little work now and again.
I generally use my iPad for emails etc. but the new 13” MacBook Pro Retina with touchbar recently replaced my old 15” mid 2010 MacBook Pro which finally crashed from old age, so bit the bullet and ordered the 13” MacBook Pro with everything I could get on it, so it’s speedy, plenty of disc space on the SSD and tons of ram/memory that I could get.
So again, I’ll remain patient till the bugs and Mojave issues are worked out of the DPS Plugin, the pain of it doing something to my existing keychain, Apple ID password and iCloud and internet email passwords again is something I do not want to endure again.
Regards,
Nuke

KeymasterNuke,
The issue you are describing did not happen in my Mohave testing. I will continue to test to try to reproduce the problem. Can you tell me from which version of MacOS did you upgrade to Mohave? E.g., Sierra, High Sierra, etc.
I did however see the “DPS is Installed but not available. Please cancel, reboot or try again” Error. I uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled DPS from fresh installation media to surmount this issue.
I will respond to support ticket now, but feel free to add your response here if you wish.
Thanks,
Dan R.

ParticipantGreetings Dan,
I was running the latest MacOS, High Sierra, my MacBook is only two months old, so it came with high Sierra on it from Apple, I believe there was one update to high Sierra that was updated after I received it.
I performed three reboots after uninstalling the DPS Plugin after using the installer, it was when I uninstalled it, and prior to those three reboots, thinking it would correct itself…… that I immediately had my preferences window pop up asking for email passwords from my internet accounts, then immediately a window popped us asking for my keychain password, and even though I had it, knew it, it would not accept it, and I was forced to use “forgot password” which had me create a new one after second party authentication using my iPhone and Apple code to allow that to be completed?
The another reboot and input of my new Apple ID which in turn allowed my iCloud to work again and input of my internet account passwords with preferences……So Dan, you are saying now that’s it removed via the installer, if I reinstall it, this would be considered a “clean install” again and I would not encounter any issues?
Best regards Dan,
Regards

ParticipantNope, I deinstalled DPS with the uninstaller, downloaded a new copy (2.2.0.9) and installed it, with password and activation trough “privacy tab” under the system preferences.Nothing changed: DPS is fully installed and visible but not responding at all.

KeymasterSo Dan, you are saying now that’s it removed via the installer, if I reinstall it, this would be considered a “clean install” again and I would not encounter any issues?
In my testing, I used the uninstaller to remove DPS from the test machine, then restarted the test machine, then downloaded the 2.2.0.9 installer from BongioviDPS.com/download, then reinstalled DPS from that media. This surmounted the “DPS is installed but not available issue.” I do not know if doing this will address your keychain issue, or any other issue that we have not yet reproduced.
Thanks,
Dan R.

ParticipantHello Dan,
Can you confirm that 2.2.0.9 reinstallation with Mojave that the DPS plugin is working and that blue “B” icon is showing in the menu bar?Regards Gary

ParticipantToday (CET) there was an update for my Boom 3D and guess: its working again! So there was may be something in the plug-ins programcode that displeased Mojave. Let’s hope the Bongiovi team finds the bug in DPS soon (if there is one).

ParticipantMo,
Tanks for that information, I am still awaiting Dan to confirm that the installation was working correctly along with the ability to see and access the blue “B” in the menu bar of the Mojave OS?
I’ve commented three times and am still awaiting his confirmation to my question.
It appears Boom is on top of it?
I don’t use that, so you use that along with the DPS Plugin?
No issues having both, why do use both, is there a reason or just personal preference?Regards
Nuke
September 29, 2018 at 8:11 am #84310M.O.H.
ParticipantNo I never use them both the same time! Either I use DPS and deactivate Boom 3D completely or vice versa (thats my security threat!). They both have their advantages. DPS has plenty of different speaker-sound-curves as presets and a virtual woofer. I use DPS when listening to my external speakers. Whereas Boom 3D has his advantage in a virtual 5.1 Stereo (Surround) for headphones, but also different presets. So it’s a personal preference.

ParticipantGood morning Mo,
Ha Ha, I did not believe you were using both at the same time, I’m not sure that’s even possible?
I’ve not heard anything review wise on Boom3D, I’ve been utilizing the DPS plugin for many years, having been a previous beta tester as well.So I’m patient and will wait for Dan or Joey to respond to my last questions.
I’ll go review Boom3D and learn about it.
So does Boom3D reside in the top menu bar as well?
Regards Nuke

Participant“Good morning” Nuke 🙂 Here in Europe we have afternoon 🙂
You can review Boom 3D in the App Store and yes, it resides also in the menu bar.September 29, 2018 at 9:10 am #84313nukefixer1
ParticipantMo,
Good afternoon, where in Europe are you?I lived for 12 years in Largs Scotland on the Clyde, I’ve also travelled extensively for my previous employer in France, Belgium and Germany, predominantly Berlin.
My wife is a Scot.
And she still has quite a bit of family there so we visit at least every two years, going again this spring 2019!I presently live in Lynchburg Virginia and after 28 years residing here, I am moving in two weeks to Pensacola Florida as we had a new house built there and it’s almost completed for us to move into to!
No more snow for me!So Boom3D is now working for you using Mojave?
Are their updates free?Regards
Nuke
