I started this topic last May and there is apparently no lasting solution to the problems so many are experiencing. Users are becoming frustrated and somewhat angered. Has the developer lost interest? Bongiovi DPS is a great project and I’ve been a devotee for at least eight years. However (as I think I’ve written previously), I’m tired of fiddling around with it, that’s not why I invested in it. I just want to listen to my digital music and get the best sound I can. I still have Bongiovi DPS in my Applications folder but I’m not currently using it. What I am using is Boom 3D which just works, no crashes and fiddling about, just good sound. I may return to Bongiovi DPS but not until the developer has sorted the annoying problems.November 3, 2020 at 3:00 pm #124910steele10Participant
Same here. To be honest, it’s never worked well. Even when I had it working, it was always picking the wrong output device and required re-configuring every time I would take my mac out of sleep mode. The looping audio killed it for me. Every time I opened it after that happened, I just got an annoying loop from when it went tits up. I just deinstalled and am now using Boom.November 5, 2020 at 12:27 pm #124921Dan RiceKeymaster
We aware of an issue where some users lose sound when updating their installation of DPS on MacOS 10.14.6 and 10.15.6. My engineering team is aware of this problem and they are working on a solution.
Here is a link to DPS for Mac version 18.104.22.168 if you could please try rolling back to that version.
First, please uninstall DPS using the uninstaller program found in your Applications -> Bongiovi DPS folder then restart your machine. Then please install the older version and let me know the result.November 5, 2020 at 12:33 pm #124923
The first post of the error is from May 7th, 2020, now it’s November 5th, 2020, how long should we wait? It can’t be that you can’t find the fault in a long time! Which technician team? I almost think this is a one man show, sorry but that’s more than bad.

I am still up-to-date with the macOS Catalina v.10.15.7 (19H15) Supplemental Update installed.
I was using DPS v.188.8.131.52 and just received an alert that the DPS v.184.108.40.206 update was available so I installed it and I will see how it works.December 5, 2020 at 2:34 am #125146

I now have a new Macbook Pro M1 2020. The speakers are so good that I no longer need Bongiovi. To conclude, I would like to say that Big Sur has gotten better, if not perfectly as it should be.December 22, 2020 at 4:10 pm #125297
I now have the new Macbook Pro M1 2020. The speakers are so good that I no longer need this program. Maybe I’ll come back someday when the problems are resolved and I can see or hear an advantage. I wish you happy holidays! michel
