ParticipantNo, I have not tried the “text/unload…” solution but I will. I am not real familiar with Terminal but your instructions look simple enough. If necessary I will try to rollback the version. Thank you.

ParticipantIn Catalina v.10.15.6, this suggestion is not possible: “Make sure that the DPS Kext has been Allowed in System Preferences -> Security and Provacy -> General Tab.” I do not see any options here to “Allow” anything. Is there a typo in the suggestion above?

ParticipantI tried to use the “kext/unload, kext/load” solution described above but after I hit “return” on my keyboard I get “Password:[white key symbol in grey box]” and then I cannot enter my Login password because there is no cursor. If I try to just type it in nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?August 27, 2020 at 11:22 am #124307GeeGrey
Participantluv-music, I tried the “kext/unload, kext/load” in the terminal as well. When you grey box comes up. There will be no cursor. Just type in Computer Login password anyway. It works.

However, DPS still doesn’t play music for me. Only when I switch back to “headphones” in Sound Preferences.
While I’m at it. I am in a zoom class and listing to Soundcloud. The zoom audio comes through regardless of whether the output is headphones or DPSreflector. However, Soundcloud stops when it’s on DPSref.

ParticipantHi,
I have a fresh installation of Catalina 10.15.6, plus 2.2.4.2 of DPS and I can confirm that I have no sound when output set to DPSReflector. Tried the terminal commands, adding the DPS app to several sections in the Security & Privacy system preference panel – no success. The Sound Output pane says that DPSReflector – “The selected devioce has no output controls”.September 2, 2020 at 8:30 am #124353Dan Rice
KeymasterIf you are experiencing a “No sound issue” after updating DPS to 2.2.4.2, please roll your installation back to a previous working version:
We aware of an issue where some users lose sound when updating their installation of DPS on MacOS 10.14.6 and 10.15.6. My engineering team is aware of this problem and they are working on a solution.
Rollback your installation of DPS for Mac to version 2.2.3.1.
First, please uninstall DPS using the uninstaller program found in your Applications -> Bongiovi DPS folder then restart your machine. Then please install the older version and let me know the result. Please feel free to email me directly at drice@bmtdps.com

ParticipantI have now reinstalled version 2.2.3.1. Let’s see if this version doesn’t crash.

ParticipantSo far, I haven’t had any crashes with 2.2.3.1, although I haven’t used my Mac much for the past several days. I’ll update if I run into any.
It’d still be nice if the problem were identified & fixed though, especially considering Big Sur is releasing soon.

KeymasterMichel,
Please feel free to send a console log of the crash to me directly at drice@bmtdps.com
There are instructions on how to do that in our Mac Faq:

Thanks,
Dan R.

ParticipantThis is entirely frustrating. Roll back, sound returns. But at some point, it stops working. So I upgrade and it comes back. Then it goes away, so I re-install and it comes back. Next time this happens, I need to look in console to see what processes are related to this.

ParticipantSo many here have had a problem with the current version and have been for months. I wonder why it takes so long to fix it. Are you still working on the problem? At least you could post a status report here in between.
