    Hi Mattr,

Without presumptuously preempting the unmatched support team at Bongiovi, what is the status of your audio functionality when DPS is turned off and/or Quit and/or Uninstalled? I assume you’re using a Macintosh. If you haven’t checked already, you can test the status of your audio by uninstalling DPS and Rebooting your Mac, selecting an audio file in the Finder, Control-Clicking it to open the pop-up menu and choosing Quick Look. If it plays and you hear the sound, then your on-board audio is ok. I recommended checking with Bongiovi support within or outside of this thread to work out what precisely is going on, but, if you haven’t already, you might want to uninstall DPS using a utility like AppCleaner (available for free at App Store) which removes an app and all its ancillary files, the reboot and reinstall. Happy trails.

Hi @davidas3 – As a workaround I just point my audio output to my Headphones or speakers instead of the DPSReflector and then the audio will work fine, so I’m fairly sure it’s not a hardware issue since that’s working fine.

The AppCleaner is a good idea – I’ll hold off a little bit until I hear from support in case I can extract any info for them first which might be helpful. Hopefully I can help them resolve something that might affect others later on before I get it fixed for myself.

For reference, here’s where I’m switching that (OPtion click + volume in task bar)

    Hi Mattr,

Sorry you’re having trouble. First let’s just confirm your settings:

1.) Get some music rolling. I know you can’t hear it. But this is how we can find out if we fixed the problem. Not to state the obvious but please make sure the volume is raised up in whichever music program you are using.

2.) When you hold the Option key and click your volume icon you should see a list of output devices with DPSReflector selected. If not, select it.

3.) When you click the DPS “B” icon, select your desired “Listening To” choice: Built-in, Desktop or Headphones. Then hover over the “Output Devices” menu item, you should see a list of your computer’s output devices. Select the one you want.

Let me know the result. Please feel free to email me directly at drice@bmtdps.com!

    Thanks,

    DPS 2.0 users,

DPS 2.0.0.18 for OSX is set to expire June 1, 2016. DPS 2.0.0.19 is now available and will not expire until January 1, 2017.

However, due to some scheduling issues, the next automatic update may be delayed to after June 1st. If DPS has expired on your Mac please download the latest version here.

    Sorry for this inconvenience!

    Guys,
    Some help please.

Long time user of Mac DPS.

On version 1.0.7 significant enhancement on my MBA.

Tried free version of v2.0 ahead of paid version, but way, way reduced enhancement, with barely any improvement. So much so I have gone back to 1.0.7 for the meantime.

    Anyone else had similar issues?

    TIA,

    John

    John,

Sorry you are having trouble with the DPS 2.0 Plugin! I know you’ve already rolled back but I just wanted to respond with a couple things that might cause this:

1.) If you have DPS 1.0.7.and DPS 2.0 installed simultaneously there can be unpredictable results.

2.) Make sure that DPSReflector is selected as your default sound output device in System Settings/Sound. Otherwise there will be no effect when turning DPS on/off whatsoever.

3.) Check if the Volume Boost checkbox is checked/unchecked in DPS Preferences/Settings tab. If you are used to having it on in DPS 1.x, you might miss it if it is unchecked in DPS 2.0

4.) Make sure you are selecting the same profile, although DPS 2.0 Freeware has a limited profile selection the MacBookPro Retina and some of the Cities profiles are present in both version.

Please feel free to contact me directly at drice@bmtdps.com with any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Dan, Thanks for quick reply.

    To answer your points:
    1. Older version was uninstalled before installing 2.0
    2. DPS reflector was selected as output
    3. Volume Boost was checked
    4. Macbook Air is the profile I use.

Maybe just a bug, but almost no difference on my MBA with 2.0 but significant difference with 1.0.7

Of note installed new version on my iMac, with good results. It’s just my Macbook Air

    John,

Which profile are you using for your MacBook Air? We’d like to do some testing and possibly tweak it for you to get a better result in DPS 2.0.

Also, just as an FYI, I’ve received some feedback that the Mac Book Pro 17” profile can be a good match for the MacBook Air.

    Thanks,

On MBP, the native banner/notification that pops up when the playing song has changed (e.g. after the previous one finishes) appears to be delayed by anything from 10-30 seconds. Funnily enough, when I hit the backward button (to restart the track) after this has happened, the issue appears to fixed thereon (i.e. the bug is no longer reproducible with subsequent song play). I suspect it may be an issue just when a music player (or dps) is initially launched/activated, which then remedies itself after a backward or forward skip is performed.

e: I spoke too soon perhaps a different or related bug: A song began around 30 se(i.e. the song jumped 30 seconds ahead of the next song . I’m gonna deactive dps and see if this reoccurs.

    Hey again,

When you switch between profiles in desktop speakers mode, if the Stereo Controls option is off, the change of profile turns it back on. I should also add the Stereo Controls do not work for me anyway when on, what are you suppose to do to the circles? I’ve tried clicking/dragging them in every direction with no result.

    es0phagus,

The stereo settings are included with each profile. So if the profile contains settings with stereo enhancement on, it will turn on automatically when loading that profile.

The FULL version will allow dragging the circles to change the amount of stereo enhancement.

This stereo effect is for speakers only. You can hear the effect clearly when in Movie Mode and you are using speakers that are close together like a Jawbone Jambox.

You will see it is disabled for headphones. However, you can turn it on for headphones to create a mono effect so it is more comfortable to listen to old recording where the drums may be in one ear and the voice in the other.

I’ve had an issue for a while now. I currently use bluetooth headphones Beats Studio Wireless and when I connect them to my macbook. I can click the Bongiovi DPS 2.0.0.19 icon in my menu bar and go to Output Device. I usually have my macbook speakers set to mute and the headphones with a volume. So when I select them in Output Device I see my speaker icon pick up the profile like the headphones are outputting then it disappears a second later like it wasn’t able to keep the profile. I then try to select the headphones again in Bongiovi DPS icon and then whole program crashes and disappears. I then start the plugin again and can select my headphones fine and everything works. This consistently happens and I have to do the same thing everyday to fix it. Anything I can do to get you more information about the issue? Thanks
