ParticipantHello,
I like the stereo option to be always off. But after boot, reboot, or when my iMac resumes from sleep, the stereo option state is not remembered, it’s set to on.
I have the latest version. When do you think it’ll be fixed please ?
Best,
Eric

ParticipantDoes DPS2.0 on mac support external USB DAC?
March 20, 2016 at 10:24 pm #63508MightyBoo
ParticipantHello,
With DPS2.0.0.17, enabling DPS HEAR (and without Volume boost), with a USB DAC AMP output source to boost up the volume, there are no more crackle sounds during my test.

KeymasterThanks, MightyBoo. It seems the headroom for some (but not all) USB DACs is calculated differently from 0dBFS reference used inside Core Audio. We are still investigating this.
In the meantime, if you want to use speaker profiles with DPS HEAR engaged, copy the profile from Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Bongiovi Acoustics/External Speakers to ../../../../../Headphones. All profiles in the Headphones folder will show up in the Headphones profile drop down menu and may have HEAR engaged.

ParticipantCan someone tell me why does DPS 2.0.0.18 needs access to Mac Keychain?
April 26, 2016 at 12:41 am #64772xaqmusic
KeymasterExcellent question, Thomas!
All DPS versions prior to 2.0.0.18 either required purchase or at least a login with email and password. Email and password data was stored securely in the OSX keychain. Version 2.0.0.18 BASIC is the first free version that does not require email or password to use. It is requesting access but does nothing with the data.
However, we are keeping the keychain mechanism in place for the upcoming June release of DPS 2.0 FULL VERSION which will require purchase and storing of private information. Using the keychain will allow easy software upgrades and storing of your previous purchases.

ParticipantThanks for getting back to my question and clearing things up. When I installed 2.0 I did deny it I hope that won’t me a problem. I have been using DPS for several of years now.
Also, When will new profiles be available for 2.0?

ParticipantThanks for keeping us posted! So far, everything is running copacetic. Looking real forward to the Full version.
Best regards,

KeymasterThere should be no issues with denying keychain access. I’ll keep this thread posted with our progress and beta testing opportunities for the FULL version.

ParticipantGreat! Thanks. The keychain notification came back and I selected “Always Allow”. So I should not have any problems going forward.
However, I have some feedback:
On my Mac while customizing DPS Audio Preferences for the first time, most of themes make it hard to see/find the “X” to close Preferences. Took me a several of minutes to find the “X” Even when brightness is set to the highest. The “X” color is black, but I believe it should be white or another color to make it easy for the end user to see it. Seems like Bongiovi Dps put a lot of work into the new UI which I prefer, coming from the older version. Also, are there any plans to add Bongiovi DPS 2.0 to the App Store on Mac?

ParticipantI installed Tidal Beta app on my Mac OS X 10.11 Tidal has caused issues when using DPS, the Output DPSReflector is replaced with Instant on sound effects plug-in. Also, DPSReflector does not show up in System Preferences > Audio > Output. This issue interfere with the audio signal, which so many issues with the sound being low or to high, and Echo/reverb effects when listening to audio. I don’t know if there fix for this but I have let Tidal know about this too. I uninstalled Tidal but the DPSReflector plug-in does not show up in output. http://tidal.com/us/download

Keymasterthomas.simmons,
Thanks for your feedback on themes. Did you know you can make and submit your theme? This link explains how. https://bongiovidps.com/creating-a-skin/ The DPS Theme and Winter Worlds make the X highly visible.
As for Tidal, I will make sure our team looks into using this with DPS. We will reply here. Thanks for the report!

KeymasterThomas,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Tidal music player app. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this music streaming service.
I tested Tidal’s beta music player app (version 1.3.0.793) and DPS Plugin for Mac (version 2.0.0.18) on a MacBook Pro running Yosemite (version 10.10.5). I did experience some bugs, which is to be expected with a beta project, but I did not experience the issues you are describing:
- Output DPSReflector was not replaced with Instant on sound effects plug-in.
- DPSReflector still shows up in System Preferences > Audio > Output.
- Tidal did not interfere with the audio signal, I did not experience any volume problems or Echo/reverb effects.
Please contact me directly at drice@bmtdps.com , I’d like to do some more specific testing if possible to make sure we get everything working properly for you.
It should be noted though that Tidal does offer is service as a Web Player which, when accessed via Chrome, does stream HiFi lossless audio.
Thank you again for your feedback, we really appreciate your participation in the DPS Insider forums!

ParticipantNot sure if it’s just me or anyone else. Since updating to 2.0.0.18 I’ve lost audio functionality. My Audio output is pointed to the DPSReflector and DPS Settings are on. I’ve tried removing Bongiovo and re-installing with no success. 2.0.0.13 was running smoothly before this for quite some time. Any advice?
