Sorry for the late reply. We are working on an update now. It addresses some iOS7 things, etc. I will pass on a feature request for individual song search and play previous track.
As for gapless audio and this tick issue, We use the apple player API. A couple of updates ago, Apple stopped doing the gapless buffer playback in their API based off of the metadata in the file. That was how we were doing it. Now the Apple API does not support this true gapless playback requiring players to do a crossfade. I am told crossfade will be added in the next update.
